2013 SEO Predictions for HVAC Websites

Well, it’s that time of year to go through search marketing predictions for 2013. So I’m giving you 3 predictions today that I’m pretty sure are going to come true in 2013.

My first prediction is, Google is going to become more unstable for small businesses. Right throughout 2012, we saw a lot of major Google updates and these updates had quite a crippling effect on some businesses. Basically businesses that were really heavily relying on organic searches or search engine optimization found themselves in a lot of trouble. So what you need to do I think is check your Analytics and if Google organic traffic accounts for more than 25% of your traffic, then I think you really need to have a good look at what you’re doing.

I would advise that you use a few more traffic streams and just using Google organic. So if you can do some paid search or maybe even using some Facebook traffic, that can work really well.

My second prediction for 2013 is that social media is now going to be 100% integrated into search engine optimization. Traditionally, search engine optimization just relies on getting links. Well now I think that all of your social media campaigns are going to have to be integrated if you want to get good search marketing results from within Google, Yahoo or Bing or whatever search engine that you want to be playing in.

My third prediction for 2013 is that reputation management is going to be important. Particularly with Google, I think you’re going to get blended search results now. It means they’re going to blend videos, reviews, social media profiles and just about anything that you can find on the internet about your website is going to be integrated into the results. So you need to make sure that you’re doing good and ethical business and you’re using good marketing tactics as well because everything that you do is going to be on display to the masses.
